Everyone wants to have great neighbors. This is why people move to certain neighborhoods and it’s why people stay in a home that may no longer meets their needs. This was the case with our Sellers. Ideally, they would have moved from their two-story home to a single level home a few years ago, but it was the neighbors on their street that kept them there. The street became even closer during the pandemic. The neighbors organically starting meeting out in the street in the evenings with beverage of choice in hand. They enjoyed each other’s company at the appropriate distance while the kids played and rode their bikes. It’s easy to see why this would be a hard setting to leave.
We started working with our Sellers at the beginning of the pandemic and had met them when we had helped their son and his family buy and sell at the start of 2020. Early in the process of thinking of selling, we met them for a walkthrough of their North Beach home. Their home was in great shape, but there were still a few things they could do to prepare their home for market. Over the next few years we would check in and I would stop by to give them advice when they needed it. I was pleasantly surprised when I got an email out of the blue from Teri that they had bought a fully furnished house on Camano Island and just closed! We wanted to take advantage of the current favorable market conditions, so we jumped into super high gear to get their home ready for sale. We had a walkthrough on July 11th to put together our plan of attack for staging and preparation. We used their furnishings for staging but moved around several pieces of furniture in their basement to create a family room and a third bedroom. I rarely get to do any staging since most of our listings are professionally staged. So, I always love it when I do get to transform a space! The Sellers and our team worked really hard to get their home on the market by August 4th. All of their hard work paid off with a very strong offer from a cash buyer. Looking back, I am in awe that they were under contract in just over 4 weeks from our July walkthrough – kudos to you, Tim and Teri!
