Welcome to Week 15 of our Monday Market Update. This week, we wanted to do something slightly different.

We thought it would be super fun to look back at what has happened with Seattle real estate over the last several years. So basically, this is for Seattle Metro looking at what has happened from January 2006, through the height down through the recession, and then the recovery.

If you’re interested in anything specific to your neighborhood, just reach out to us.

So what has been happening in Northwest Seattle in this past week?

To summarize week over week numbers for Northwest Seattle, the total number of homes for sale is about the same as it was the previous week and homes going under contract kept up with new inventory coming on the market. This week, the price per square foot on closed homes went up as a reflection of lower inventory we had about a month ago. So there was tighter inventory price per square foot goes up. So we saw that this last week. Bottom line, it continues to be a robust seller’s market in Northwest Seattle, in fact, all of Seattle. Even the whole region.

And of course, interest rates continue to be phenomenal. They did creep up a little bit over last week and are at 3.25%. But what a lot of us may not remember is that back in March, interest rates were as high as four and an eight.

And what some of you might not remember back in 1981, interest rates were 14%. it’s great time for buyers interest rate-wise.

So anyhow, thanks so much for tuning in. And as always, if you have any questions definitely reach out to us. And be safe.

We understand that it is a confusing time right now.
