The positive news on interest rates has been helping to curb our normal summer doldrums. While activity is slower than earlier this year, it doesn’t feel as slow as August typically feels.
Buyer activity has been very good in SW Snohomish County with homes going under contract up 30% over the past two weeks. New listings were also up by over 19% – Buyers easily kept up with new listings hitting the market. The opposite happened in NW Seattle, homes going under contract were down by just under 5% for the past two weeks. New listings were also down, which helped keep the market in balance.
We’ve also noticed that older inventory has been getting absorbed out of the market, which is nice to see!
The next couple of weeks will be a little slower with Labor Day next Monday. We hope you all enjoy the last hoorah of Summer!
