Green Lake Park is one of Seattle’s most beloved parks. Its expanse of water and green space in the center of a dense urban neighborhood draws thousands of people daily from all over the city. The park serves as a natural preserve for hundreds of species of trees and plants, as well as numerous birds and waterfowl. The 2.8-mile Green Lake Loop Path provides a perfect recreational spot for runners, bikers, skaters and walkers. Many others use the athletic fields or visit the park for boating, picnics and swimming.
The Green Lake Pitch & Putt is a short par 3 course that is great for beginners, practicing, junior golfers, and just having fun!
Woodland Park is an exciting, multipurpose 90.9-acre park and recreation space just southwest of Green Lake and north of the Fremont district. The park is largely occupied by the Woodland Park Zoo, but also includes some picnic space, a formal rose garden, a few open spaces, and a play area for children. Just south of Green Lake Park, the park is an ideal spot for picnics with reservable picnic areas, barbecues, woods, pleasant grassy hills and pathways. It is also one of the city’s most active hubs for sports and recreation, including walkway paths, several play fields, tennis courts, lawn bowling, horseshoe pits, a skate park, BMX bike course and the Lower Woodland off-leash area; this a one-acre dog park on a slope that has benches, a doggie drinking fountain and a small and shy dog area.
